_AYR STROKE CLUB  INFORMATION

Not everyone who has had a stroke feels that they need to be in a group setting, but for those that do the group offers an opportunity to meet with people who are or have experienced the difficulties involved in the sometimes long process of recovering after a stroke.

Being able to talk to other people who know how you are feeling or you can see have made a good recovery after their stroke  helps with the process of recovery.

The experience of being with other people every week getting to know them and enjoying the activities of the group helps members to regain some of the confidence they lost when they had their stroke.

WHAT WE DO.

As well as the usual games, word searches and quizzes there are computers in the group for those who wish to participate.

From time to time the group has people along to either entertain or to inform the group.

We also go on outings to places of interest.

Whatever activity the club is involved in the main objective is that we have fun doing it.

The Stroke Club has been running since 1997. It was founded and is entirely run by volunteers. The funding for the group is mainly by donation or fund raising events, but we do sometimes have funding for specific projects.
